The adrenaline was high and the competition fierce at this year’s YFCU Machinery Handling Competition, held at the Balmoral Show 2025. One of the most anticipated events in the YFCU calendar, this challenge tested members’ skill, safety, and precision under pressure — and they did not disappoint!
Kindly sponsored by Johnston Gilpin & Co and with the help of Peter & William from CAFRE, the event took place on the Cattle Lawn, drawing a crowd of enthusiastic supporters and curious showgoers. Members from across Northern Ireland showcased their handling skills with a strong focus on health and safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
Results:
1st Place – County Antrim
2nd Place – County Tyrone
3rd Place – County Armagh
Congratulations to all participants who took part and represented their counties with confidence and professionalism. The standard of competition continues to rise year after year, reflecting the knowledge and ability of our young farmers in operating modern agricultural machinery safely.
