The YFCU was thrilled to kick off Balmoral Show 2025 with one of our most anticipated and energetic events — the Annual Sheep Shearing & Wool Handling Competition! Held in the Sheep Shearing Pavilion, the atmosphere was electric as members from across Northern Ireland showcased their precision, speed, and skill in front of a supportive and enthusiastic crowd.

This year’s competition featured two categories for Sheep Shearing — Novice and Advanced — along with a Wool Handling section. The standard of competition was incredibly high, with each participant displaying remarkable technique and dedication to their craft.
Thank You to Our Supporters
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors Ulster Wool and Lister Shearing Equipment Ltd for their continued support and partnership. Their commitment helps us provide a platform where young people can develop and demonstrate their practical agricultural skills.
