Richard Beattie accepted the role of President of YFCU in April 2024, taking over from Stuart Mills (Moneymore YFC).
Now, looking ahead to our 2026 AGM, Richard is getting ready to hand over the presidency after two dedicated and impactful years in office.
During his time as President, Richard has demonstrated a strong belief in leading by example, always championing the idea that no individual is more important than the collective. His focus has consistently been on working together to enhance the membership experience and ensure the organisation is left in a stronger position for the future.
One of the standout highlights of Richard’s presidency has been leading the YFCU rally teams, where he supported and guided members as they represented the organisation at the Rural Youth Europe event. Watching members grow, develop, and gain confidence through these experiences has been particularly rewarding and a testament to his commitment to member development.
Richard believes that determination, collaboration, and enthusiasm are at the heart of effective leadership. His determination ensured that ideas and initiatives were seen through, his collaborative approach brought people together to achieve shared goals, and his enthusiasm encouraged others to fully embrace every opportunity within YFCU.

Richard’s hard work and commitment over the past two years have made a lasting impact on YFCU. His passion for the organisation has been second to none, inspiring members across clubs and counties to step forward and take on roles of responsibility. As he steps down to spend more time with his young family, we extend our sincere thanks to Richard for his dedication, leadership, and the many people he has inspired along the way. His legacy will continue to shape the future of YFCU for years to come.
