Allister Crawford and Ashton Wallace receive prestigious Young Farmer awards
The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) were delighted to celebrate with two of their members having recently been recognised at the Northern Ireland Farming Life awards and the Young British Farming Awards.
Allister Crawford, member of Seskinore YFC in County Tyrone, received Young Farmer of the Year at the Northern Ireland Farming Life awards. The event saw over 350 guests attend the Culloden Estate and Spa on Thursday 17th September 2026 to celebrate the farmers, families, workers and businesses that keep Northern Ireland’s rural communities thriving. The Young Farmer of the Year award, sponsored by Eakin Bros, recognised the rising stars in Northern Ireland agriculture, who are actively shaping the future and modernisation of farming. Having received the award, Allister commented, “It was great to win the award, especially knowing how many good young farmers there are in Northern Ireland. It was a proud moment for me, and I never thought I would actually win. The awards night was a great recognition of all the hard work that goes into farming in Northern Ireland”.
Ashton Wallace, member of Lylehill YFC in County Antrim, received Senior Young Farm Worker of the Year at the Young British Farming Awards on Saturday 19th September 2026 at Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley. The award honoured young farmers aged between 11 and 17 who show a strong work ethic and dedication to daily farm operations.
