Soil Sampling Technicians

Job Type

A minimum of 3 weekdays (Monday-Friday) and there may be the option to work on Saturday if it becomes available during the peak sampling season. 7.5 hour working day typically between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

Salary

£12.50 per hour (plus travel expenses for use of own vehicle and a generous daily performance bonus scheme)

Job Description

Work from mid-October 2024 to the end of March 2025.
Navigate to fields using a smart mobile device with ArcGIS Field Maps.
In each field collect representative soil samples across a W transect using a corer. All required PPE and kit will be supplied.
Use a smart mobile device to record a GPS track.
Bag and label soil samples.
Work outdoors independently in rural agricultural environments and as part of a wider RPS team.

Essential Criteria

Experience of working in an outdoors environment in all winter weather conditions.
It is vital that you provide this detail in your application form.

Desirable Criteria

Previous soil sampling experience.
Full driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
