Farm Manager – Pig Breeding & Nursery Unit

M. Keys Farms Limited is one of the largest and most progressive pig farming enterprises in the United
Kingdom and Ireland. Together with the farm team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operation
of a large-scale, modern pig breeding unit, located in Co. Down Northern Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of enthusiastic colleagues to deliver best in class results
• Maintain an ethos of excellence in all aspects of unit management and pig production
• Ensure key performance targets are exceeded
• Maintain a high level of animal welfare through constant health and performance monitoring
• Ensure accurate recording of performance records and all necessary information
• Assisting with duties which include, farrowing of pigs, artificial insemination, vaccinating and pig
movements
• Ensure optimal feeding and environment is maintained for livestock
• Adherence to all site health and safety, environmental and technical procedures
• Exceed all Red Tractor quality assurance requirements
• Maintain optimal site hygiene and biosecurity practices
• Work with the support team to ensure production is efficient and wastage is eliminated

Job Requirements:
• Experience working with and managing livestock is essential
• Highly motivated individual with the desire for continuous improvement and to be the best in this
industry
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team
• Passion for farming, determined, keen, capable individual with an excellent eye for detail
• Experience in working within a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Basic level of English and Maths
• Good understanding of IT systems including MS Word and Excel
• Punctual with good time management skills

Remuneration:
• Remuneration package negotiable dependant on experience
• Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 16:00
• Weekend work on rota
• Holidays - 28 days including bank holidays
• Pension
• Accommodation is available on site and can be included as part of the remuneration package if
required
